Ketamine is a standard anesthetic that we administer at very low dosages to address treatment-resistant mood disorders and chronic pain conditions. Ketamine is a safe alternative to standard anti-depressants and painkillers because it does not suppress the body’s heart rate or breathing like so many other anesthetics. Ketamine is administered via intravenous infusion which is the standard method of delivery for Ketamine Infusion Therapy. Ketamine is fast acting, which means results for those with mood disorders are achieved in a matter of hours or days as opposed to weeks as with conventional medications.
